Default 2000 Yamaha Breeze 125cc Help!

Hey guys and gals, i just got my 6 year old a 2000 125 Yamaha Breeze 3 days ago. when we first got the quad, it started right up and ran fine. we let it set yesterday due to the weather being a bit cool. went out this morning to fire it up, turned the key switch on and the neutral light came on...hit the start button and heard a tiny click sound and the neutral light went off. thought it may had been the battery so i charged it and its fine. cleaned the positive and negative battery terminals and re tightened them... turned the key switch back on...green neutral light came on...hit the start button and click...the green light goes off again....i messed and messed with the ground wire on the battery but i cant get the dash lights to come back on. i even swapped batteries with my kfx and it started my kfx right up, so its not a battery problem. is there any other ground wires i may be over looking or does it sound like something totally different? any help or ideas is greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

The ground for the battery (negative battery terminal) is about 16" long and I think it's grounded somewhere behind the shift lever. Check and see if it's not pinched or cut anywhere.

I have my breeze in pieces cause I fixin it to surprise my son for his bday next week. I can take pictures of all the wires under the plastic if you need a reference.

Any clicking sounds when you hit the start button? It could be a bad solenoid. You could jump the solenoid with a set of metal pliers by touching both terminals with the ends completing the circuit. See what happens after that. BTW I am no expert just little things I picked up watching my uncle work on ATV's. He used to be a mechanic at a local Yamaha dealership.

Check the battery cable connections on both ends...........
