atv vin check online?

Is there anywhere I can do a vin check? I just bought my 660 and the guy said he never had a title, etc. I feel stupid for checking it at this point, but I need to anyhow. Let me know

If your wanting to check to see if it's stolen, there is no where on line. Call your local police department and have them do a vin check on it. It's better to find out now than later.

It didn't even cross my mind and then I was sitting around tonight and figured it would be wise...

Re: atv vin check online?

So I called the PD and an officer came out and ran it. Nothing came back (it wasn't ever registered). He said that I'm 99% fine. They do take the vin and atv info and input it so if someone is missing one they match it up, etc. Nonetheless, the thing that concerned myself and I mentioned to the officer is the fact that there isn't a key. It was converted to a switch. He seemed a little uneasy about it but said that I probably wouldn't ever hear about anything. I guess I'm just a bit paranoid. I had a gsxr stolen a few years back so that magnifies it I suppose. Any other opinions?

Re: atv vin check online?

thats not true.....if the cop took the bike they would write up a report and you would take the criminal to court. A sheriff told me that the judge would automatically rule in your favor the second he saw the case and you would be granted the money by the criminal....however that is done.

The love of my life!!
