Im starting a new thread on this and will post pics as we go along with parts and assembly. Please dont crap all over this thread unless you have something to contribute or are just wanting to subscribe.
So here is what we are shooting for:
I'm going to rebuild the 660 I have that recently dropped a valve and tore up the engine pretty good. This is a trail bike and will never be moto-x but still needs to be as badass as we can get it as long as it rides well on the trails and can use pump gas.
Here is a list of parts that will need to be used because i already have them and like the way they work. Everything else is open to options: reusing.... Hotcams stg II, CT exhaust, oem carbs.
I already know that there is going to be a lot of haters in the OEM carbs but at this point we are sticking with them and will need to come up with a good combo that will work with them.
Here is my current plan which will be updated as we go so it should serve as a starting point:
+4 stroker crank (open to suggestions for brands)
102 piston 11:1
ferrea SS valves (stock - +1mm) depending on what the carbs limits are, may consider titanium
Oem head with valves unshrouded and ports/guides cleaned up
5 angle valve job
reuse KW spring/retainer kit.
I planned on using a stock style timing set unless there some good known alternatives and also was thinking of a wiseco piston if i can find one to clear the crank since I have always used them in any high performance engine Ive had and they have never let me down. As far as pistons go im pretty much going with wiseco or CP so please dont suggest JE cause I just dont use them.

Barnett clutch, hinson basket
+4 axle, +2 LSR arms,
Custom YFZ450 front shocks
Adjustable rear link
Renthal bars
Big F'in TEETH!
Looks pretty good to me, I think you've been doing some homework. Only thing I really have to add is to skip the Ti valves, stainless steel Ferrea will work just fine.
The wiseco will work with a barker/vitos +4 crank (or you can have someone make a short rod crank for you). The hotcams stroker needs an offset wristpin location in the piston, IIRC Hot Rods sells a CP piston direct for that purpose but others can be found.

What kind of speeds and how high do you rev this bike when driving...........

I cant remember when the last time was that i hit the rev limiter, my guess is im in the 3-6k rpm most of the time. Typical speeds vary depending on the types of trails but once in a while we run power lines and fire roads so i would say 30-50mph in the woods and maybe 65 or so on the gravel roads

Ill take that as a compliment. I always try to do a search before i join others in beating a topic to death and beyond. Also let me know what you thing of the crank choice at +4. i know there are bigger ones out there but i also dont want thos thing the tear itself to pieces. The only reason im doing the crank is because everyone i consulted with agrees i should replace the one i have after the damage that occurred. It doesnt make much sense to stuff a stocker back in.

Well my build is at 60hp with FCR39. I would think with stock carbs you would be in the upper 40's or so.
