I would like to get a set of new rear tires for my Raptor 350 that will work well in sand but aren't paddles. I ride in terrains that vary from poof dirt (sand essentially) to hard pack that is like concrete which is why I would like tires that work well in sand but won't be terrible everywhere else. I've heard that 400ex stock tires work well and that the razr, razr2, and the i razr work well. Kenda Kutter and Klaw look like they would be good too.
The very best all around tires I ever had were Wolly Buggers. Dirt, mud, snow, and sand, but they were a little stiff on hard packed dirt. I think if they were sipped, they would work better. They have knobbies on the outside, and curved solid bars in the center. They aren't made any more, but there is a clone to it. Can't remember the name.
I run ITP mud lites and they do great in the sand and in the mud. They do just as good or better than my sand geckos in the sand, plus they are easy to get sideways with.
I know the mudlites worked GREAT in the sand dunes on our utility quads. I've never tried the Mudlite SP's there but the tread pattern is essentially the same just not as deep.
