Default Raptor 80 smoking

My daughters 05' 80 is smoking ALOT. It starting smoking all of a sudden last weekend. First, I thought it might of been too much oil, but that wasn't it. I'm assuming it's the oil ring. Anyone else have this issue?

It depends when it smokes. If it smokes just when started up for a few minutes or all the time. You say smokes alot, so I would imagine you mean rings. If your looking to do a cheap rebuild. Have the cylinder checked to make sure its not ovalized and hone it yourself and get a new rings. The right way would be a piston, rings, sleeve if availible, otherwise you may have to get a jug. Just remember to coat the cylinder bore in oil before reassembly.
Peace
Craig.

It only smokes when it's running. I'm going to pull it apart and see what's doing. If everything looks fine, piston and cylinder wise I'll just put new rings in it. If it's marred or anything looks "iffy" I'll bore it and put in a new piston and rings.

I'm not sure if you can bore those or not. Some are nickacell plated and you can't unless you have it replated. I think you would be ok just re-ringing it. Valve seals cause blue smoke to, but usually only upon start up. But if its just all the time when its running its the rings. I would make sure to clean your air filter very often. Sand/dust is the killer for rings. But if its smoking when its shut off it may be best for a nice insurance policy.
Peace
Craig
