Big 3

I am looking to try out the power tip that monster makes with a fuel controller. Has anyone tried out the tip? I am also wondering How hard it is to tune the bike with the efi controllers, I will be getting the dobeck, not the fancy pc5 or pc3. This will be for a 2016 by the way. I am not looking to do a full exhaust at this time, I am just kind of annoyed by how hot my bike gets as I assume that it runs lean from the factory.

I haven't tried it as I don't have a 2016. But I've read a lot about it. If you buy from TQS, he will give you a programmer with a pre loaded map on it. I would suggest the PC5 with timing and get an air intake while you are at it. The extra money on a PC5 is definitely worth it. You'll be in the low 50s HP with that setup from what I understand. For reference, my 07 with the big 3 duals made 46 with the TQS map and 48 after only a dyno tune. I'm at 56 now after adding the cam and TB.

I am warning you tho..... Modding is addictive. I thought I'd stop at the big 3. Then I thought I'd stop at a 5 mod. Now I'm talking about getting a high compression piston and port/polish on the head. That will get me in the low 60s and "I'll be done modding then".

I'm a big monster fan. Haven't really seen the power tip but if the quality is anything like their pipe I'm sure it will be great. I also agree with 2001400ex. Go with pc5 if possible.

The power tip won't have a seat of the pants difference. But, it sure looks pretty. I would save your money for your exhaust system.

From what I read (take it for what it is) the exhaust tip (along with an air intake) on the 2015/2016 actually provides some HP gains and the programmer will provide better throttle response. As opposed to the 2014 and prior where you need a full exhaust.

Also, monster used to have a deal where if you buy the exhaust tip, you can trade it in for a full exhaust later on.

I really do not want to go full exhaust until I get my banshee, then I am looking to go turbo build on my raptor, so I would rather spend as little as possible now so I can start saving for the turbo setup .

You will need the PCV for the turbo anyway. Only expense you'd change is the air intake if you went turbo. But the air intake is cheap.

Yeah, but I would rather buy the cheap tuner now so I will only have to take my bike to get dyno'd one time instead of twice, as the closest place to me is 3 hours away, and dynos are expensive.

That's why I suggested buying from TQS so he'll include a map with your PCV which will get you close to the right air/fuel mixture. Closer than the doebek will.

Just my thoughts. :-)

Monster tip looks and sounds good. Just a hair under 52hp on my 15 with pc5 and fci with monster tip. Plus you get full retail cost of the tip as trade in toward full monster system.
