Default stock chain length

I am about to buy a new chain and I was wondering what the stock number of links is.

Personally I like to buy them a couple links long (96 or so on stock) and then cut them when I get it. This is partially because I run many different sprocket setups and some require more links than others.

If you're planning on sticking with a stock or 12/40 gear set then you're ok buying stock length.
