Anyone have a Raptor 90 yet?
I want to buy a new Raptor 90 (raptor90) for the kids for Christmas, but there is nothing other than the Specs and "Preview" text out there, no real world testing, or feedback. Has anyone here purchased one yet? And if so how is it? Enough power? I would really like to know how it compares to a Honda TRX 90, which is the other atv I am considering.

On paper the new Raptor 90 looks to be the real deal.
I am not sold at all on the Can-Am 90X. There were 2 of them at our XC series and they were always having problems. I would take the Outlaw 90 LE over the Can-Am 90X, but I think I would take the Raptor 90 over either one of those and definately the Raptor 90 over the Honda 90.

I wonder why yamaha didn't make a 125cc raptor instead of the 90cc? Why would they only jump up 10ccs? Maybe they think it wouldn't sell too good.

I picked up my Raptor 90 today and went with the white and black one; though the 2 sticker packs are still not in yet. I'll probably take it out this weekend for a bit, so will let you know how it does.
One thing that I finally found out about the 90 that was missing from all the preview information I had read is that it does not have reverse. Not a big deal for me, but it may be for others. There is also no neutral setting, so make sure the parking brake is set when starting it. There's a little play in the throttle before the transmission engages though and you do have to hold the rear brake before it will start.

VA Raptor,
Cool, glad to see someone will have some firsthand info on one of these things. Have you ever ridden the Honda TRX 90? I am very curious what you think about yours after you and the kids have a chance to ride it. How old are your kids that will be riding it? Mine are 10, 8, and 5. The 8 and 10 have ridden a Honda TRX 90 that our friend owns and they love it. But I just bought a Raptor 700 a month ago and the Raptor 90 matches it so well that the wife thinks all things equal I should get the Raptor 90. And I have to say that on paper it has the Honda beat. I know my kids will end up jumping it, What do you think about the suspension? Is it fast enough? IF you have a way to clock it I would be interested in top speed numbers. I know the Honda will do a little over 30. We trail ride a lot, and the Honda is fast enough to pretty much keep up, I wouldn’t want the Yamaha if it can’t keep up.
What lead you to pick the Raptor 90 over all the other youth ATV's? Any previous experience with other youth ATV's to compare the Raptor to?
Any info you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I rode a TRX 90 back in I think 2006, so it's not too fresh in my mind, but I do remember it had more power than I was expecting out of it. I don't have any kids of my own, but I know my 10 year old and 8 year old nephews will be riding it often. The 10 year old has rode his friends LT80 quite a bit, so he should be able to give me his thoughts on how the 90 matches up. I've got a GPS I can check the speed with or I'll just pace it with my 700.
The first thing that drew my attention to the Raptor 90 over the others was the styling. After that it was really an easy decision after comparing it with the other youth ATV's. The fully automatic transmission will be nice when getting first timers up-to-speed and the adjustable suspension front and rear should make it a good fit for a wide variety of riders. It's also cheaper than last years Raptor 80! I paid $2,100 OTD for mine; I could have gotten the blue one for $2,000, but really liked the looks of the white and black.
It's way too cold and windy for me to go out right now and take it on a long enough ride to give my thoughts, but it should be warming up over the weekend. I'll report back once I've had some time with it and will get some pictures of it up as well.

VA Raptor,
Nice Pics, i agree the styling is the best of any of the little atv's. The plus of the CVT transmission being easy to use, i hope does not come at the price of performance. I think it will be great for my little ones with the CVT, but i am afraid that it will make it slow. CVT's even on big machines feel slow to me, but maybe my kids wont mind. Just gas and go is appealing to everyone.

I am also thinking of buying my son the raptor 90. He has a 2004 model trx90.
The trx90 runs well but it has hardly any suspension at all. The moment someone rides one of these could they please reply back with their opinions. I have not been able to find any real reiews on them either.
