some people dont care about the display and could care less if its there as long as the check engine light and vitals still work... i refuse to reduce functionality on a brand new bike... our group has several raptors and im just trying to get my 700 to run with the other 700 that has the exact same mods i do...
also im leary of people with out the bike in question answering the questions i have because yamaha changed a few things that effect how the bike rides in 09..

They added some electronics and maybe changed shock valving other than that mechanically it's the same bike as the 08. Like I said just be sure you know who your jumping out, you never know I may be a Engineer for Yamaha!

extreme, im not sure about your posts...... but what i can tell you with 100% FACT is this
I have had my 2009 yamaha raptor 700 since may of 2009. It is now january 31 2010 and i have 114 hours logged on the hour meter. Roughly 20 hours of service and I did this mod. Guess what! nothing wrong with it. no ill affects and btw STOCK i did 87 going down a long hill so i'm not sure what you've done with the pc5 and what not but this was according to my GPS and stock speedo. with big 3 i can push it to 89-90 down the same hill with wind to my back. I had it bouncing off 90 for about a quarter mile.
no i cannot gaurentee this mod for 11 grand and frankly if you payed 11 for your bike you got hosed.

Thats cool....Can you explain how this works and how you were able to get the PC-V to reset your speedo? This would be some great info for everyone who doesn't know. (especially me) I could only find where it would adjust the fuel map based on gear and speed.

Yes you still would need to do it with a PCV but if you install a Dynatek ignition either programable or non programable you would not need to do it because the ignitions would take care of it!
