I would guess if you put your hand over the end of the pipe when it's running you'd probably hear it, or spray something like wd40 on it and it might bubble but you'd have to do that when its cold and it'll get hot in a few seconds.
Take a 2-3ft length of hose, vacuum, medical, garden hose, etc. Put one end to your ear, the other to the exhaust. Can't miss any leaks. Be sure to re-torque the nuts. Goggle "Raptor 700 exhaust studs" on this forum. DL700 did a recent post on aftermarket exhaust studs. I think from Summit Racing.

wow this is really cool advise. I could def see it working to find a leak. I would have just looked for the black stain as was said but I like this a lot.

Works on bearings, cars, washer, dryer, even your Lazy Boy that needs lubed. If you can reach it, try it on the rear bearing of the alternator of your car.
No I haven't tried the hose idea yet (wife wont let me cut up her garden hose) yet but I think that what happened is when I painted the exhaust header flanges I didn't let them cure long enough and it is slowly burning the paint making it smoke, or could it be the anti-sieze smoking off of the header bolts.

Tell her to keep cutting the grass and you'll worry about the hose. Garden hose was just a option. It needs to be somewhat flexable. Could be paint or anti-sieze. Did you use hi-temp paint?

Possibly both. If it is an actual exhaust leak I doubt if you would see smoke.
