2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 2x4 with 4x4 option?

I was looking at my 4wheeler when i noticed that it 4x4 front dif mounts and a freeze plug on the pulley house where the 4x4 drive shaft would go in. How much would it cost, could i do it myself, and what would i need?

Lol,

Some replies will take more than 20 minutes. I think it would be cheaper to just buy a 4x4 version.

Have you looked at an OEM schematic like from RMATV to see what the price would be for those parts? Curious on cost of just parts. Look at one that is 4 while drive (schematic) for reference. I can take a gander tomorrow, I am only on IPad in the evenings.

Would be an interesting project no doubt.

Im mean ohv is my thing. I got a yota pickup crawler and i have not 50 miles on this thing since it was bought when i was 12, now im 20. It runs like a champ, but i wanna set it up for heavy offroading encase i wanna just go out riding a pair with a friend or in case i have friends that wanna follow me on my rzr 800 on 28 mega mayhems, that side by side can go places but sometime this thing gets stuck in deep leaves😂😒
