Let's throw a party at Raptor Nations place, all we gotta do is show up and help ride!

I would snag an 06 white one just to match my 06 700. Sounds like my son is finally going to get back in the game. He is looking at Banshees but who knows....it's a Youngblood thing, lol.

You nailed it. The power potential, and also the cost for power. There are a ton of 100+hp banshees our there. Not a whole lot of raptors out there claiming that much. It can be very costly to get a raptor into that range without power adders. However, the power is way different. 60hp raptors can hang with 80hp 2 strokes depending on setup.

The truth? People like the smell, sound & the idea.

I have built and raced 250r's, and several 2 stroke dirt bikes over the years - the ability to quickly lift the front end (if jetted correctly and the weather doesn't change) is the only advantage to me.

Funny how most 2 strokes have a "fresh top end". That is because they are finicky bitches and if everything isn't perfect, they self destruct.

I'm 45 yrs old and won a state championship racing mountain bikes this past summer. My legs are strong, but I prefer electric start haha. Most people with fully developed brains do.

This is one of the things that peaks my curiosity. Hp comparison. Im no expert, but ive been playing with powersports stuff long enough to know that you cant really compare numbers when its a totally different machine. I already know that there is no contest in the torque department, which makes it seem like the rappy would launch better, and thus with equivalent hp just walk all over it. But idk, ive never launched a banshee

Read somewhere that two strokes put power to the ground twice as fast or twice as much as a four stroke. Found that interesting.

Yup. Like the name implies, 2 strokes complete their cycle with 1 upstroke and 1 downstroke. 4 strokes need 4 to comlete their cycle. First downstroke is intake, first upstroke is compression, 2nd downstoke is power, 2nd upstroke is exhaust. So, a 2 stroke makes power everytime the piston travels down. 4 stroke makes power every other time the piston travels down. This is why they can make similar amounts of power with half the cc's

2 stroke, spark plug fires every time the piston reaches top dead center.
One stroke down+one stroke up=2 strokes, or full travel of the piston on the rod.
4 stroke, spark plug fires every other time the piston reaches top dead center.
Two strokes down+two strokes up=4strokes.

Now... If they put a Banshee motor into a newer chassis, and added efi and E start - That might be fun! And it wouldn't blow up from weather changes or iffy gas.
