Looking for advise on head gasket problem. And reading sparkplug trx450

My buddy just did a top end rebuild and a little porting and 12.8:1 piston I think is what he said. Anyway it ran great for a few rides then started pressurizing the overflow and spewing coolant from the overflow tank. It was not hot according to my temp gun 180 something was the hottest we saw it.
He used a "why pay more gasket kit"
Which is why I think he had a problem?
Here are a few pics of where I think it leaked also look at the spark plug it has probably 8 or so he's on it along with the gasket.
I sanded the head and cylinder on my surface plate then indicated the head it is less than .001 from being perfectly flat so I'm sure that is good.

Kinda looks.like gray power on the plug?

I can not see any detonation marks on head and he did not bring the piston for me.to look at.

Any help would be great he ordered all new Yamaha gaskets

I was just kidding, I knew what you meant!

When it comes to head gaskets cannot beat OEM quality.

I know you were.
Does it look like the gasket was the problem? I do not know anything about 4 strokes for the most part I just got my first one last year.
Also what is up with the plug?
