Carb venting

Hey guys. Can anyone tell me, the vent tubes running to the upper part of the carbs from the intake tubes ...... Are these smaller intakes or are they pressure release like the crank tube

So they need to stay connected to the main intakes so air is forced into the top of the carbs?

They are basically vents, getting their air from a clean source, as Willy states.
