03 raptor 660 HELP

Good Evening

I recently purchased an 03 raptor 660R that had not run in 2 years. Below is a list of items I have replaced.

1) I have disassembled and rebuilt carburetor to factor settings based on the service manual.
2) Blew out fuel lines and cleaned out tank
3) One way starter clutch
4) All fluids changed
5) Spark plug

Before rebuilding the carb I just blew the jets out with compressed air to make sure transmission worked correctly. Had no power from 1/3 throttle to full throttle. So I thought the carbs might need rebuilt. So rebuild was completed. Same issue with no power and wants to stall when revving past 1/3 throttle. After rebuild I started up and let it idle for 30 minutes and a few revs to see if issue with no power and still wanting to stall. So pulled plug to be able to read and the plug looks new. No carbon build or anything.

I'm at a list of what is the next step. Currently has K&N filter and what appears to be a slip on exhaust muffler. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

Welcome to the forum!

Not likely valves...

Do you have any modifications to your airbox? The main jets control somewhere between 1/2 to 3/4 through wide open throttle, the needles from `1/4 to 3/4 throttle and the pilot jets/fuel screws from idle to 1/4 throttle or so - So it sounds to me as if your issue is either neeldes or mains (or both)... mods to the airbox without rejetting with richer mains and changing the needles to aftermarket, more agressive taper, can cause symptoms just like yours.

@QuadManiac

The air box appears to be stock outside the K&N filter from what I can tell. Lid is on with all 6 clips latched.

How do I go about checking the valves? Am I able to check them through the window underneath the gas tank in the cylinder head?

Bottle: Too tight valves (typically intake) prevent cold starting... and have no effect on the ability to rev above 1/3 throttle. THe fact that his symptom is throttle position related as opposed to RPM related suggests to us that this is a carb issue.

Matt - when you rebuilt the carbs did you use a rebuild kit or did you just clean and reuse the existing jets? Did you remove the emulsion tubes? If 1 or both get reversed you can have symptoms similat to your description,
