I have photos of this seal it looks a little worn but from what i can tell it was working fine. Nothing spattered out the weep hole while it ran and, and the coolant level dropped quickly but wasn’t noticeable if you weren’t watching it, i was watching it. Im looking at the head right now and i got 320 grit sand paper to just clean it up before I installed it there are still some scratches on it but non of them are on the main sealing area
So, the water pump is new or used. If used the seal should be replaced. The weep hole has nothing to do with water getting past the motor seal. I may be wrong, but I believe as soon as the motor starts the goes past the seal on the pump drive.
Lay the sand paper on a flat piece of thick glass. Run the head across it a few times then see where the scratch pattern is. If it's inconsistent it may need machining. Otherwise continue to sand till the surface is consistent. Be careful not to rock the head and go different directions.

Alright, the water pump is used. And ill try the sanding method. I does have some imperfections on it from the naked eye. They aren’t deep scratches but seem like they could mess this up. Im also thinking of getting new head bolts since these ones are quite stretched. I measured them and they are all inconsistent
