2001 Raptor 660 no fire

Hey guys! I have seen people on here with the same issue and I feel I’ve done everything under the sun to get my bike to have fire but I just can’t. I’ve replaced stator, coil, plug and changed the cdi box and still nothing, done minor testing and no source of fire! Anything helps! Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

Give us full history so we can see what led up to this problem - be verbose! Tell us what testing you have done, what the results were and what direct evidence caused you to replace each of these items. Did you keep the original items? Did you replace the CDI with another '01 unit?

"Have fire" is a very ambiguous statement. Can you describe your symptoms in simple language? (example - the engine turns over when button is pressed, but it won't start and run on its own. I've checked.. etc., etc.)

Have you checked for spark? Where are you located?

Okay so I got the bike a week ago. The other guy couldnt figure out it out but said he had checked timing and it was off. He replaced the timing chain and claimed it would try to run before but now nothing. I checked behind him and timing does line up so I assume he did that right. Anyways I had checked the plugs coming from stator with a test light and it had nothing. I replaced the stator and now the test light lights up. But I’ve seen you guys say you need a lower voltage meter than just a test light which I need to get. But that power goes all the way to the rectifier plug and still lights up there. I replaced coil and cdi unit also. I got a kit off amazon that included everything in it. I’ve seen you say before replace the cdi with an original one though so that could still be something I need to do. But anyways I’m pretty much stuck until I get an oscilloscope or something I assume. I put it together and tried starting it and it turns over fine just doesn’t start or sound like it even tried to start

Also, the cdi that was on it when I got it is a big gun over rev cdi, it’s not an original either but it does make the little whining noise when I turn the key on

Have you pulled the plug and watched it as you crank, visually seeing if you have spark?

Yes, I held it against the motor and I couldn’t see anything happening

Are you also looking through a manual as you checked previous guys work concerning timing? Making sure correct marks were looked at?

I don’t have the manual but I found a video online about it. The marks are even with the head but the top mark is behind a plate or something, is it possible it could’ve been set 180 degrees off? Just considering that because each end of that gear had a plate over where the top mark should be

Here is a manual thread, I have downloaded one from there before but I do have a hard time sending that file that I have downloaded through email.
