Not sure

[email protected] not sure how hes disables it I was just told that it has been done by the guy that sold it to me, the knob you turn to put it in reverse is completely loose and as such does nothing.

If the jets were blocked or whatever wouldn't the bike struggle in neutral also which I don't have a problem with?

I would like to get the reverse gear working if possible but wouldn't know where to start.

I will check out the manual you said and see if I can understand it.

thanks QM.

Got hold of a service manual albeit from a different source as the link at the top gave me a corrupted file?

It's all way over my head, luckily i have a friend with a garage that I'm taking it to tomorrow who says he can take the carbs out and clean them, before he puts it back together I'll get him to check the jets and hope one of you guys can let me know if it sounds about right.

Only changed thing is the yoshimura end can, don't know how much of a difference this would make to the jets? hopefully someone will be able to advise me.

Bad jetting or dirty jetting will show more under load, then when being reved in neutral, UNLESS it is the pilot circuit..................

I think you'll find the emulsion holes in the main jet tube/s are blocked.

Well he has it now and reckons he will have it in bits and be able to tell me what the problem is before the end of the day.

He says he will check the spark plug and jets and hopefully find out what the problem is before the end of today I will keep you posted thanks.

Make sure you get the size of the jets from him, and count the number of grooves at the top of the needles, this will tell you if you have aftermarket needles, also, if he has #25 pilots jets, install them, you wont be sorry................

Why go with the #25 pilots jets? What kind of power increase does it give?

No power increase, just more response at off idle throttle increase, and less likelihood of blowing the carbs off at idle.................
