who cares about the reverse light anyway.....you're supposed to be riding not looking for pretty red lights when you shift into reverse...but thanks for the info, I just grounded my green/white wire to the motor with a splice and now my reverse light is useless.....i never thought about using a relay...interesting

Re: Lose your reverse limiter but keep the reverse light - instructions

I was looking into doing this, but I am not sure that I found the correct wires

are those 2 it? I didnt see a white stripe on the blue

Also I was wondering how these 2 wires function?
It would appear that they both go into the gear casing and a circuit is completed when the reverse gear touches the drive gear ?
Where along the lines are the rev's actually senced and limited? wouldnt it be easier to cut that out and or go around it? Or is that what we are doing here?

I was looking into this a little bit more, it appears that blue one i have is to the nuetral light? because the outcome of disconnecting this switch was:
-Still rev limited
-no nuetral light
-reverse light stays on

I also tried to find a wire coming directly from the switch /twist knob and I came to the realization that it is a cable that goes to the trans.

The green/white stripe wire in question starts at the reverse SWITCH (not twist lever) which is mounted to the case, down underneath the output sprocket. This wire then goes up at the CDI in the battery box, where i suggest performing any 'surgery'.

Question what does the reverse limiter do and why would you want to disable it?

To me it sounds like it prevents you from going too fast in reverse. Mine seems to go just as fast as I dare squeeze the throttle in Reverse and the light still works.

Why would anyone want to go fast in Reverse? Seriously. Thanks--Dave
