Re: Stripped chain tightener bolt

Is there enough alum. in the swingarm to support a helicoil? I have had bad experiences with them.

Re: Stripped chain tightener bolt

I got my old swinger from my 03 with the carrier I'll sell to ya for real cheap. I'm about to just chuck it. I would redo the bearings in it though...

Re: Stripped chain tightener bolt

could get a piece of aluminum and grind it to fit over the hole and drill it, get a welder to weld the thing on and then once it is cooled off tap the hole you drilled. Should be good as new and you wouldn't have to take anything apart to do it. Welding migh cost you minimumm shop rate or just throw the guys 20 bucks good to go

01 frame powder coated W/04 engine, Jenssen LT +2+1 A-arms, Tucker +2 swinger, Elka LT's all the way around, Durablue 2+2, RAZR 2's. HV P&P and megacycle X4 cam from CSR, 720 stroker. FCR's and Barkers.

I have the same problem. Did you have to take apart the entire axle to drill and re-tap it with a helicoil? also lets say I dont get this fixed... will it be ok as long as I keep the axle nuts tight?

How do you plan to adjust the chain, and keep the carrier straight in the swing arm. If you don't keep it straight you will have chain alignment problems and your atv wont track straight.
