The starter itself doesn't get taken apart, but the cover over the end must be removed. The adjacent gear must be removed from the starter to remove the sidecover.

Photobucket is trash now, use something else.

this is a very nice write up!

I have a question though, what are some common symptoms and diagnosis of a bad stator?

Is there a difference between a $32 stater and a $152 one? I bought a $32 to see if that was the issue of why my Raptor wasn't sparking and it was the issue. But I don't wanna be replacing it again in a year or so, and really don't want damage occurring to other parts!
