You have to leave the very bottom left bolt in the case to remove it and you have to wiggle it around because I know that bolt wont come out with it in frame, also dont forget to put bolt back in before you put cover back on

All of my posts require the use of your own common sense!

Clutch engage all the time

I wish I have seem this post before I replace the clutch, the new kit didn't come with cushion spring as you memtion and Installed without it.

Could this be the reason why my clutch is engage at all time? The dealer doesn't know what is Cushion Plate but I see 5Y1-16383-00-00 SPRING, CLUTCH BOSS (U49) in the partlist. Could this be what I need?

Thanks 05 Raptor 660

Im changing my clutch plates in my rappy tomorrow for the first time. Ive done plenty of clutches on cars and i understand its different but with this step by step it seems like its going to be easy. I just put the plates in oil to presoak overnight just for the hell of it. Ill get back to you guys and let you know how it went.

I'm doing my first Raptor clutch and have a couple of questions.

1. The last plate was completely disintegrated and pieces were in the bottom of the case. I got as much of it out as I could see. Should I do more?

2. There is a plastic gear below and behind the basket. It has a few teeth missing. What is it for and should it be replaced.

3. The water pump plastic gear also has a few teeth missing - Replace?

4. The cushion ring was missing - Buy one and put it in?

5. The arrow was not lined up correctly - Could this have caused all the problems?

6. The pull lever shaft doesn't seem to be held out anyway. Is this normal for it just to be loose when everything is put together?

I would since it is for the oil pump.

Will probably find a better place for this post the more I read but wanted to ask you guys while reading this thread about tightening the clutch springs/pressure plate bolts. I keep breaking them off when using 5.8lbs on 2 different torque wrenches (??) and wanted to ask if anybody else has a problem with this and has a suggestion for how tight to snug them down without a torque wrench such as, certain number of turns then loctite etc.

"Give me ambiguity or give me,.. something else."
