DC shoes.....

but I have nerf bars... I would love to have a pair of riding boots, but im broke sooo..

I ride mainly trails and rocky terrain. sometimes i ride a nice blast of open trails and can get to the top of 4th and cruise on them. but to get to the trails is a 5th gear sprint on the road to the entrance.

after having a quad with nerf bars, i wouldn't own another quad without putting a good set on first. not only are they an investment towards protecting yourself, they can make a quad look incredibly good.

I just bought tech 7s. Haven't ridden in them yet but they feel good. I was wearing my buddies old Gaerne boots for the last 7 years. And I finally needed them last fall. Rolled the quad, couldn't jump off, and the Nerf bar on my Honda rolled on my leg just above my ankle. Even with the boot was a huge welt. I kept riding, but no way if I didn't have boots. Then I decided I'd get a better pair in case I do something similar.

BTW, that's the only time I've seen a Nerf bar actually do worse damage. But oh well.

Definately love my alpinestar boots. They have saved my ankles and shins a few times. Feel way more protected with them than just nerf bars.
Well, I hate nerfs. Have been banged up more by having nerfs than just pegs. Constantly getting sticks jammed in them, nets are either too tight and don't have enough room to work brake and shifter, or too loose and get hung up on my toe or the shifter or brake. Total pain in the ass and worthless in my book.

Ouch! Better to be sore than to be broke for sure.

I ride in my work boots. The only reason I have never invested in actual riding boots is because I hate the fact that I cant feel anything. Like when you put on winter gloves and try to write with a pen or pencil........yeah, it's hard to do. I had a pair when I first started riding my KX125 and just hated them. Maybe they have changed over the years.....

Boots and nerfs are a must! All it takes is 1 time for your foot to slip of the peg coming off a jump and under the tire your leg goes and down you go as you get ripped of the bike and slammed to the dirt! And then you limp back to your bike with your leg tore half off and your ankle almost broke! Ask me how I know about that one! Lol
