Riding boots

How many people here where riding boots when out? I know for safety you should but curious who actually does. And if where they ride primarily effects their decision.

It's a good idea to be wearing at least some type of high top boot. I've just been wearing some steel toed work boots but I also have nerf bars. With out nerf bars you have a higher chance of running your own foot over. I just ordered Fox's Comp 5 Off-road boot which is suppose to be very comfortable but not to spendy. I'm starting to push myself pretty hard when I'm riding so I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to step up to a full boot. Now I'm starting to look into neck braces as well.

I always have used a good high top boot in the past. Something with more protection is on my radar. Just not sure where. I was actually leaning more towards nerf bars first

I always wear my boots. Alpinestar tech 3. Ride mostly dunes. Good for ankle support and keeps the heat away.

I run alpine star tech 7s and even like the way they look. Find something you like both the look Feel and price of and you will be more apt to wear them. Remember good socks (IMHO just as important as the boots)

I have Alpine star Tech 3. I have had them for a couple years and they are great.

I love having the boots for the bottom of my feet. with G-outs and jumps the boots really help. The boots help keep the heat off you from the exhaust, and support your ankles.

I would at least ride with steal toed work boots.

I agree with what the other members are saying, Boots and nerfs for sure. I have owned a pair of gaernes for almost 3 years and they are by far the best boots I have ever owned, Very comfortable and no need to by another boot if they ever wear out they have replaceable soles. I know its crazy to give 3 and 400 bucks for boots, Some say the same about helmets.

Appreciate the advice. My friend bought a pair of alpine stars tech 7 then promptly sold his bike. I'm thinking about grabbing those if they feel good, and the price is right

I agree with al statements above. Here is another reason if you ride a dirt bike as well. The kick starter. I have a older 250f that has hella compression that you don't want to your foot to slip off the kick starter. I made the mistake of not wearing them recently just to start to get fluids flowing, slipped, and lever came back up, gashed open my shin and left me heckuva big knot there as well. Chalked up to another mental lesson the hard way, lol.
