Is this valve ticking?

2014 700r, 13 hours of use.

I installed new high performance air filter and fmf power bomb header. I readjusted my fuel controller too. Everything runs fine.

Now a very slight ticking is coming from the engine when warmed up.

Is this normal?

Changing those parts wouldn't affect the valves. Most likely, you have a exhaust leak.

Exhaust leaks can sound like a "tick" and in most cases do sound like a tick not a hiss. I would make sure that the header isn't leaking. Did you reinstall
the brass exhaust gasket that sandwiches between the head pipe and the head? Did you torque the head bolts down evenly?

Does not sound like valves to me. Sounds more like you have some metal part vibrating on another.

I agree with Morph that sounds like something the exhaust is
vibrating against check all the way around your new head pipe
to see what it's touching. Great looking pipe by the way!

In the video doesn't it look like one of those braided cables is touching your exhaust at the joints? Is that what is tapping as it idles?

@morphrider

Sure does.. Look at the heat discoloration on the spring shield over the parking brake cable (upper cable) it has to be touching the head pipe
and that discoloration happens at approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit with steel so, that heat is going to ruin the parking brake cable
in no time flat.

Guys I just triple checked, it's not touching anything! It's not touching the braided cable.
