build suggestions

First post but been lurking this forum for years.

So my bike is an 07' SE. I have a PC3, k&n intake, and a big gun exhaust. I bought her brand new and beat her good over the years. Im in the process of rebuilding her.

I just ordered a new piston, 11.5:1 stock bore. I am also going to change programmer, add ignition control, duel exhaust, bored throttle body, cam, swing arm and an axle.

Ive been searching for awhile, i yet to determine what parts most guy prefer. im looking for any advise you guys will share. I only ride at the dunes now, no more dirt. Going to get this all done before my trip to sand mountain. Thanks!

If you do nothing but sand I would get an FCI intake without the box and port the head. Sounds like you are on the right track with parts otherwise.

Yep, on the right track for sure. I've got a 06, and added a 11:1, HC3,+3 TB, Power commander 5 with timing, also went from ct racing single exhaust to barkers. The DMC force 4's seem to be the hot item but I'm happy.
Welcome to the Forum.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, my bike wouldn't be where it is today without these guys. Well it would be where it is (the garage), it just wouldn't be running.

I wouldn't wanna be a member of any club that would have me.

I would check with some builders about your goal. Cuervo, HPS, Kenz, etc. Yep, get the FCI, no box. 11.5 compression may require race fuel in the Oregon dunes (sea level). Or mill about .040 from the dome of the piston. (I did that on mine) Have your head ported by any qualified builder above, +1 valves, maybe +2. HC3, HDD5050 or similar. Do the oil mod, and crank bearing support plate. MSD or PC5, +3 TB. Head studs for reliability. DMC Force 4, Barkers, or Monster exhaust. Big bore are best. Swing arm about +4 or +6 at the longest. Use all factory gaskets!

If you haven't done any suspension, I would recommend that as real important with these mods. You'll be in the mid 6? for HP, so handling is important.

+1 on DEZ's suspension suggestion, I thought I had mastered my Big 3 power and was getting bored and thinking about going into the motor but I ended up doing suspension and it really is one of the most important mods you can do to your quad. I went from the front pogos and stock rear to a full set of fox shocks and it's a totally different quad, I'm at the point again now where I want more power haha but suspension has been my favorite mod I've done to my quad, hands down. Check my signature for details, but if you ride dunes you wont be disappointed doing your suspension. That's about all I ride anymore. I can't even get on any of my friends' bikes because they ride like shit compared to mine haha.

I think you're on the right track. I'm a big fan of Racers Edge and have heard so many good things about Henry Porting Service. Mine dyno'd at 72hp and 53tq. I'm running BB Monsters, PCV fuel only, FCI no box, RE +3 Throttle body, 11.5:1, stock bore/stock stroke, Webb 4, and Racers Edge +1 head.

Thanks for the responses! Just what I was looking for. I am considering a set of elkas. Just not set on it. I have the piggy back shocks on my bike now.

I'm gonna buy the can next. I'm leaning towards HC3. Not sure yet.

Ive searches for this answer but can't find it. With the build im planning would a 50mm throttle body be too big?

In my opinion elkas are inferior to so many. I'd look at PEP, Motowoz, Fox, and a great cheaper way is redone shocks my Jogaca.

A HC3 is a good choice for your build. Have your head ported to work with that cam. A 50MM may be too big for your build, and kill your bottom end. That's why I suggested you talk to a builder, maybe more than one. Most have dyno runs that show what parts work together.

A well setup suspension will let you ride faster with more control. You'll need wider a-arms, extended shocks (??), different offset wheels, and the rear width slightly less than the front.

How much do you weigh with gear on?

I've heard HC3's are on ebay for $130. Don't forget a new timing chain.
