Just wondering if anyone ever Panther chain double up or come off and whack the case and punch a hole in it? if this happens can you just change the side crankcase cover or do you have to do more serious work to fix it?

I haven't had any personal experience with it happening to me but I have read about it a few times. Which is why most of us install a Case Saver Chain Guide. In the event the chain breaks it prevents the chain from bunching up between the front sprocket & case. I do believe you can get a replacement case/cover if it just cracked the stator/starter cover.

My mouths are broken off so I can't install a case saver or even a sprocket cover. I hope it never happens. But is it possible for the chain to seriously damage the crank case or would it only hut the stator cover?

It's just the mount, then get a case saver to attach to it.

It can and likely will wad up and break the cases. There are kits to mount the case saver using the stator cover bolts when your mounting tabs are broken. Case saver and maintenance are your friend.
