noob question, chain slack

okay, ive set the tension pretty tight when its unloaded, but when i sit on it i feel its too loose. how do you set the chain tension?

Set tension with quad on the ground and no rider. Do you still have the chain roller wheel on?

That is why it gets tight. The purpose of the chain roller is to maintain proper slack through the swing arm arc/travel.
