Re: Please sign to keep our riding areas open

We all love riding, yet not all of us are willing to keep riding spots open? This forum topic should be 10 pages long. Just my opinion, but I really think everyone on here could fill out the 30 second online form. Think about your favorite spot getting shut down. That is what could happen to many people if we don't help out.

I don't see what the big deal is other than liability.

I'm very lucky to have free places to ride here.

Re: Please sign to keep our riding areas open

sorry guys. I cant bring myself to sign it. I am all for having places to ride, but the idea of "wilderness areas" are to preserve the wilderness and animals that rely on it. Designating wilderness areas "destroying" riding areas? More like people riding wherever they like destroying the wilderness. Not a tree hugger just an outdoorsman. Want endless places to ride? Come to Nevada where there is all the desert you could ever imagine to ride in.

Not trying to ruffle any feathers. I just think people like us tend to forget that what we do has negative impacts on the wild areas we enjoy riding in. In case you are wondering why I care, I'm a Wildlife Ecology and Conservation student at University of Nevada Reno...

The best things you can do aside from signing petitions is to stay on the trails, pack out what you pack in and show respect to people on horse, bike or foot. I can't believe some of the places I've found beer bottles. I'm all about partying, but clean up after yourself. Peace!

Re: Please sign to keep our riding areas open

Hey Buck, the issue here is not wether or not we should have wilderness areas, the issue is taking a designated area for riding and turning some, if not all of it into a wilderness area, thus closing the area that was designated for riding in the first place. That happens enough and there is going to be no designated riding areas left. The wildlife is not the endagered spieces at risk here, we are. If your reading this and haven't signed yet, please do.
