Weird 350 problem

Ok so I have a 07 350 with a weird ignition issue. The quad only runs if you bump start it. After it’ll start with the start button seemingly till it sits or cools down. To me I thought that was a valve clearance issue so I’ve adjusted the valves and still no start unless I bump it. The weirdest thing is if I pull the plug and look for spark while starting nothing but it’ll still bump start. I’ve put a new coil and noticed the bolt weld for one side of the coil was broken so thought I found the problem but still didn’t fix it. Any ideas ? Thanks

The only thing I can think of is that your battery may be junk. While turning over cold, it doesn't have enough power to fire the plug?

Test the voltage to at least 13.6 volts. Anything less is discharged. Even a new battery needs to be trickle/float charged for a few days.

But when it's warm you can use the button? I had a similar issue that turned out to be our cdi, let's hear more info first though. Also, get items through EBay, I ordered multiple items chasing our no start issue and you can find OEM parts on EBay on the cheap. I think everything I replaced still was under $100 for multiple items which resolved our issue.

It had a procom cdi in it that I always thought were junk I did put a amazon cheap cdi in it was like $40 I believe. The last time I bump started it it started every time checking randomly throughout a month time, but after it was actually ridden last time back to not starting when I got home to unload. Another thing I noticed was when I was checking the plug when I turn the kill switch to on the plug would spark once. Idk if that normal or not. This things been a pita. I need a whole new rear assembly cause the brake rotor hub froze to the axle and wouldn’t come off with a 20t press

Have you tried with a NEW plug? Don't clean the old one, it might be the issue as well. I like to start with the simple stuff.

I’m back on the electrical problem because the rear is going to cost a few hundred to replace everything and I’m at the point to just sell it for parts if I can’t get it to start reliably.
