Silver Lakes in September

We booked a room for Sept 11 thru 13, and according to the guy at the hotel, it's off season and won't be much of a crowd on the dunes. That works for me, don't have to worry about getting run over by a dune buggy or truck. Can any of the locals give me an idea if that's true. I would think the weather should be pretty nice, and people would still be riding quite a bit.
Thanks

The weekend after labor day is certainly quieter than a normal weekend but that weekend before is the Apple Festival so the town will be quite busy on Sunday. The dunes themselves won't be terribly heavy on Sunday though and Monday/Tuesday will seem empty by comparison.

We used to have the fall Silver Lake Raptor Rally the weekend of Apple Fest and always had a good time, never had any problems getting into the dunes.

Cool, thanks for the info. Missed the trip this summer, so I have been looking forward to hitting the dunes.

I failed to take a single picture that weekend, but I look forward to seeing some from your trip.
