You didn't clean up the basket before you put the new clutch in?

I learned it the hard way too.
Lucky for me, it was on a yfz, so a clutch change is done easily in a half hour.

So update. Pulled it apart. And found nothing wrong.

Again..

So raptor has always had a clutch problem. When you first start it and put it into gear it would lurch forward and die. Do that 2-3 times and it's fine. I'd even sit there idling and pull clutch to try to get the plates to free up. We figured it was grooves in the basket. Well since then I've had to adjust the clutch, like way out, like it's got maybe 1/2 inch of slack til full engagement. Figured clutches toasted. Pulled it all apart and the basket and clutches are fine. Fibers are perfect. The fibers on top were dry as a bone though. It hasn't been run in a month. Not sure what to do now

Sounds like its just out of adjustment to me. Are you making clutch adjustments on the handlebars, or on the other end of the cable mounted on the clutch cover? If its maxed out in both places then maybe just need a new cable. Also soak those clutch plates in oil for a while before you re-install.
