Maximize my 804! Chime in!

Hi gents

Looking to maximize my 3 years old 804 setup. Bikes around me become faster

Here is what I知 looking for

- 14:1 short rod 804 by RE
- cryo heat for my tranny
- Close ratio 4th gear
- +3 Heads plus bigger Cam ( Currently using RE +2 plus M1 Cam )
- E98 for friendly races and MR12 for competition ( Currently using Q16 )
- Keep my 54TB

The bike already have lightweight parts plus I知 loosing weight also

All recommendations and suggestions are most welcomed

I'm not a expert by any means when it comes to drag racing, so just wanted to say good luck. I love seeing big builds like this.

Best way to knock off some times is an override trans. My 804 is currently a standard shift(2-4), and it痴 a handful to ride. Will be going to an override next winter.

What does your bike weigh now? Are you racing a groomed track or field or dunes?

From what I saw on the dyno, I知 also limited by my head. It is building power way up in the rpm, curve is pretty flat from 8500-9500 limiter. Don稚 know if a +3 head will be in my future, but ti valves are needed to pull some more rpm.

How set are you on keeping the throttle body? You can make a bit more power, much smoother, and save some weight with carb.

The override would be way to go for sure but I still using it in open desert to have fun do the bike is not %100 for drag racing. Full override still fine for me?

Never weight my bike. I知 afraid to go when with carb setup. Prefer to stick with EFI

I saw cuervo racing Facebook
+2 to +3 picked up 10hp

Another top builders told me it should pick up 2-3hp... I知 bit confused

If you’re referring to the build I think you are, there we’re more factors there than just valve size.
If you even plan to downshift or cruise around at all, you don’t want an override.
What scares you about carb?

Changing carb and tuning...Pain in ass!

I think cryo and 4th close ratio would be good for me

You mentioned cryo treating the trans but if you池e doing the trans you might as well do the whole motor. By treating the whole engine you pull the molecules into a more organized molecular structure or crystal lattice structure. This reorganized structure in turn makes the metal stiffer and stronger. What this does for the motor is it limits the amount of flex. Believe it or not the motor flexes quite a bit under load and this translates to lost energy. Treating the whole motor from what I致e been told by the cryo guys can add up to 5+ hp versus maybe 2-3hp with the trans. It痴 just a thought but if you go that route I would do the whole motor and increase the longevity of all your parts.
