Problem with Dynatek non-programmable

I have the non-programmable Dynatek FS on my 07 Raptor. It makes my ride pop and sputter, especially at part throttle. If I remove it from the ignition loop the problem goes away. It does run and start easily but is obviously not working the way it should. I have ensured the TPS wire is indeed connected properly. There is a section in the manual about calibration, yet does not tell you how to calibrate it. Does anyone have an idea of what is going on?
Thanks, Greg.
