I just go my 14 Raptor last weekend and the stock filter fell apart when I tried cleaning it with gas. I just replaced it with a Uni Foam filter for $25 that fits the stock cone with wing nut. Anyone care to explain the benefit of spending $100 just to get that clamp on style adapter?

The air horn is just made better allowing better air flow. Unless you are doing the big 3, just replacing the filter us fine. also would not recommend washing your filter with gas. Just use a little soap and water.

^^ What Gils said. Also, mineral spirits is excellent for cleaning foam filters and will not harm the glue/foam.

Cool thanks, I suppose that air horn will require you getting rid of the stock mesh screen in the air box correct?

Correct. The air horn requires you to drill out the other one and put the new one in its place.

If it has a k&n filter, spray a light coat of oil on the outside making sure you have full coverage. If it is foam, spray on the outside then ball the filter up so the oil saturates the foam, then squish out by hand any excess oil.
