Kevin M We'll, good news!...
Had a good look at things this evening and mechanically everything is pretty much spot on!
Cosmetically I've a few bits to sort out and will in time give things a nice paint job and refresh.
Got a written guarantee on the engine work and also got a nice discount and service kit thrown in with some yamalube oil, new genuine shock guards, filter and plug.
Really happy with the new purchase
Going out trail riding first thing in the morning so should get a few pictures then as it's dark now!

Thanks all for the opinions advise and information, it's very much appreciated!

FknBoss Yea I'd assume if it was a race quad they probably traded in for a new. Why no one will know. But if they bought another 700 they probably kept their suspension because it wouldn't effect the trade in value so you essentially be giving it away.

Good point on the rebuild.

First700R I find it hard to believe it was raced. I have never seen a race quad with stock suspension.
Maybe the guy put the stock back on when he sold it. I dunno.
Anyway.... What concerns me is the engine rebuild. I would want proof that it was done by a pro or it would devalue the bike for me. Not saing I wouldn't buy it but for sure the price would have to be good.

Kevin M im not that concerned about the fact that its been raced if its in as good condition as im led to believe.
tbh, if i had a stock example, id probably end up putting the type of mods this one has anyway so thats why its appealing to me as it is.
no harm in having a good look anyway

FknBoss Lol I know the quid reference from top gear haha. The quad does look nice but as everyone knows I will always take a stock one over a modified one for various reasons like in my head people put aftermarket parts because they want to ride it harder. 2 if any mods I want exactly what I want
I don't want to deal with something like an exhaust that's too loud or doesn't look right or is chrome when I rather black. Also when mods were they installed right? I rather spend the money and build my own not someone's project. Even tho its nice I couldn't bring myself to buy a quad that was raced.

Welcome to the forum btw. We all will help you make the right decision and answer questions you have. It's a very nice forum with little arguments and bickering.

Good luck with buy.
Heehee b'the jayzus
Gave the seller a call today.
Apparently it has been raced but assures me that it was well taken care of.
Also most of the aftermarket parts were sold and fitted by the seller and original receipts of parts can be shown.
Also assures me it has just been serviced prior to being advertised.

The engine has been opened and rebuilt at some stage so he says but has assured me it's absolutely perfect...no noises or rattles and pulls strong.

Also managed to negotiate a few quid off over the phone (if that's anything to go by I should get another few quid off meeting him face to face with a bit of luck)!

What do ye guys think?!?!

Btw quid=bucks ....
