Took out my wife's KFX700 in the fields and in the woods at our house. My foot did feel a little funny after riding but I did not have my riding boots on. I did a bunch of stuff to this over winter there was nothing to do but deal with a broken foot. Was one of 4 toys I redid.

She rolled it on her last summer 10 miles from the truck so a few things were done or redone.

took off front wheel spacers and rears to shim it back down to 48"
american-star tie rods and ends
hreatv.com antivibe steering stem with honda trx alba antivibe clamp
protaper 7/8" atv mid bars so i could fit the dumb parking brake on
cycra probend hand gaurds
itp baja 3+2 rims i had powder coated...I swear didn't make it any wider then stock up front
stock rear rims modified with lazer cut retaining rings I had welded in then powercoated
new font brake pads
about ever plastic mount on fenders has been broken off over the years so lowes L brackets bent into shape and reinforced stock rear fender mounts and rubber mounted every mount.
IMS roll design KFX450R foot pegs cut up and modified to fit the 700.
powder coated and rebuilt front hubs with new bearings
power coated rear hubs
relocated key and idiot lights in good spots


This fall I need to have my buddy make me delrin a arm bushings, stock ones are going after 12 years.
Jogaca is doing a dual rate set of KFX450r front shocks I stole off my 450r before I sold it.
I need to fix the grab bar she bend up or buy a better one.
I opened up the intake/airbox some. Once summer hits I will open it up more and rejet

I love this machine. Wife rides it a few times a year when she goes out, I normal ride it over winter when its time to exploor and built new trails/hills to climb.

I always wondered how well a kfx700 stood up to a raptor 700. What's your opinion? What do you dislike and like in comparison?

Btw good to hear your foot is doing better. If it was splinted or in a cast for a long period of time, using it is gonna kinda feel like it fell asleep and you're trying to wake it up. Don't over strain it, it's gonna take a little bit to get all your muscles back up to speed.

My buddy has one or should i say just sold it. They are pretty awesome. They are automatic, super easy to wheelie, fast off the line. I would take him in a drag but he would almost always get me off the line. His floated so you could take it in deep water, the way the air box is you could almost put it up to the gas cap without it sucking air. He loved his machine and is going to get another. Ill try to upload the video of him sinking it i just have to find it. It was pretty reliable as well it lasted him a year without putting no money into it other than a belt.

Kfx700 isn't anything at all what so ever compared to a raptor. My friends have 3 or 4 of them and there total junk!! If they are beating you off the line then you must be letting the clutch out in first gear... but for the guy who has it for his wife isn't a bad idea cause yeah they are belt drive automatic... until the plastic belt drive cover cracks and leaks water so you have to put duct tape over it. COULD YOU IMAGINE IF OUR RAPTOR CLUTCH COVER WAS PLASTIC!?!? Hmm...

Kfx700s are sport utility well before the big utility vtwin craz happened. There is no comparison to a woods sport machine like a raptor nor one of a 450r. I own the full range of bikes. Junk is a work ppl use for somthing somone paid good money for, then beat the piss out if it and expected it to keep working good under little or no maintenance. I enjoy me some kfx700, but it's a slower go explore machine which will do and preform better in areas that a clutch and go faster bike won't. My 660r is more comfortable then kfx700, but my Kfx450r i can fly on and throw around like a blaster. I don't need a 450r in the woods, not comfortable at all, not the kfx450r. All have been better then my banshee in every area however. Technology is a wonderfull thing...I do own a built 87 yz265 with limited techonogy in it....long live the rear drum brake....however my yz426f was better. Puppies and kitty's!
