I was riding and one day it shut off and never came back on. Replaced battery, tested the stator, tested the crank sensor, no blown fuses, I have power on both sides of the ignition coil but it gets hot.
Do you think this could be a ECU issue? Or does my coil need to be replaced?

I’d start with a new coil

Thanks for the reply! I bought one online earlier, it should be here soon. I was just hoping it wasn’t the ECU because the cheapest ones I found were $400+

It’s rare for the ecu to go out. I’ve seen bent pins but not a bad Ecu yet

I have some used coils, plug wire and ECU for sale depending on the year.

Have you tried a new spark plug? You say you don’t have spark, but it might be a bad plug. Worth a shot anyway, happened to me once. Also, does it have a lanyard on it? If that touches even the bars all bets are off, again....happened to me.

What is a lanyard?

Something you would loop to your wrist in the event of falling off. Kills the bike instantly, normally mounted on the bars.

Does it crank and don't start, or no crank at all?

Did you;
have any codes
replace the spark plug
battery charged to at least 13.5 volts
check for loose connector connections
check connection pins for corrosion
check for recessed pins in connectors
???

Everything is good but it does throw a code 33 which is the coil. Tested the coil and it had power on both sides but it got hot. Ordered a new one and should be here soon. Do you know if there is anyway to check to see if the ECU has any damage or the wiring harness is damaged?
