so im running 39mm fcrs with clamp on k&n's, and ride in really sandy conditions. i pulled the carbs off to clean them after last ride, and the vent tube that runs from the top back side of the carb has quite a bit of sand inside it, and i disassembled the carbs and the sand seems to be coming in thru there some, i kno on the stock carbs the vent runs into the air box to prevent such happenings, but what should i do with it since i use clamp ons? the line is so small i dont know if i can find just a little breather filter small enough to go on it, anyone have any ideas?

Yes, there are small vent breathers that you can buy for this. I use tygon tubing and run it into the air box like you mentioned but when I run the velocity stacks on my FCRs I use an modified inline gas filter on the end of a short piece of tygon tubing. Be careful with the vent it can break easily when you try to push and pull a line on and off.
Good luck.
