Does anyone know if you can do the black ceramic coating on used pipes? I really want to get mine blacked out. I know I can have the cans PCed black, but is it possible to successfully do the black ceramic on a used header?
I can't justify buying a new set just for the color. I am kicking myself for being a tight wad earlier on.

Like a home produced coating?
How should I prep the surface?
Any other input or experience?

When I inquired about doing my exhaust the company said no problem, they do a pretreatment cleaner.
Have you done yours? Or just looked into it?
If done, how did it go? Has it held up? Any pics?

Don't ceramic coat or powdercoat in your home oven. If you want to get something like that, get one off Craisglist. Your food will be weird tasting afterwards and you will get sick from it. You can do used pipes. Ceramic coat is tough and will last along time if done correctly. 500-650° paint won't cut it, the heat of the head pipes is hotter than that
