Does anyone know if you can do the black ceramic coating on used pipes? I really want to get mine blacked out. I know I can have the cans PCed black, but is it possible to successfully do the black ceramic on a used header?
I can't justify buying a new set just for the color. I am kicking myself for being a tight wad earlier on.
So, I just found some rattle can ceramic paints that you bake in your oven. Problem I see is they only withstand 500 or 650 degree max temps. I bet my duals get a lot hotter than that.
nah, i havent done it yet. its on the list of stuff to do like many other things haha. with a couple emails back and forth....they said $25 per ft and $50 for the exhaust. they coat inside and outside and do 2 coats.
Don't ceramic coat or powdercoat in your home oven. If you want to get something like that, get one off Craisglist. Your food will be weird tasting afterwards and you will get sick from it. You can do used pipes. Ceramic coat is tough and will last along time if done correctly. 500-650° paint won't cut it, the heat of the head pipes is hotter than that
