No, I am just saying, it doesnt look very clean. Do you know what is lighter, a TRX or LT?

The TRX is far supierior to the LT. If you are woried about look's you can clean whith plastic real good with SOS pads & some elbow grease.
The Honda is bullet proff as far as reliability & makes more power than the LT stock to stock, mod to mod..As far as weight I think the LT is a bit lighter at around 320 LB, The earlier TRX is around 360 LB & the latter 88 was around 320 ( same as LT )

+ 1 the TRX 250R is a good bike, fast and less maintenance than the suzuki stock. And it looks a lot cooler:D

I had an TRX 250R and I can vouche for all the good reviews. Quick, reliable, agile, great bikes. I wish I still had mine. I was young and dumb in high school and sold it for next to nothing so I could buy sterio gear for my car.......one of my premier dumb ass moves.

BTW, my TRX was white and my current LTZ is white and I have yet to encounter anything that Dawn dish detergent and elbow grease couldn't handle. After a good cleaning and drying I soak my bikes down with Meguires Tire Foam. With that on them the little bit of dirt I pick up from the MX Track rinses right off with the water hose. Just don't put it on your seats, you'll wish you hadn't.

the trx does NOT put out more power than the 87+ LT250, stock for stock the LT has more power. the TRX has alot better geometry for suspension ect and IS overall a better bike. the aftermarket for the trx is crazy.

the trx can be built ALOT faster but stock it is not. wish I never sold my 88 trx, my buddy is building it into a beast, he has big body PEP shocks on it now amongst other mods... makes me sick lol

I have been lurking around there. I think I am going to look at one tommarow. Rebuilt last year, everything PC'd, looks new.

If you are going to trail ride get a Blaster (03 or earlier), if you are going to MX get a TRX250R (88 or earlier). If you are going to do a little of both get a LT250R (88 or earlier).

If you were to find a blaster for $500 or so and install a 240 kit for $700 or so and a larger carb (not sure on the price $150?) You would have a strong runnin blaster. Might hang with some of the 250r's. Just my .02
If you have to get a Blaster and put a 240 kit on it to hang with 250Rs, you might as well just get a 250R, this way you will have a liquid cooled quad. If you buy a 250R you can always get a 300 kit for it as well and once again say bye bye to a 240 Blaster.

Test on stock 2 stroke quads showed the Tecate4 was the fastest, but handled the worst, they are pretty rare and hard to come by due to limited production. The TRX250R was the best all around performer, very expensive these days too. The LT250R is just as fast as the TRX250R, handled better than the Tecate4 but not quite as good as the TRX250R, they are easier to find and cheaper to buy because they were produced longer. The best years LT250Rs to get are 88-92. If you have to settle for a 87 keep in mind parts are more difficult to get. The 85-86 models had a less powerful engine and weighed more.

I have learned to buy what you want, versus what is available. In time you will want a bigger faster quad, like a Banshee or Raptor 700.

Save the money and get a 700. 660s were carbureted, 700s are fuel injected.

I am kind of nervous to be getting a 2-stroke. I know nothing about them.
There is not a whole lot to be afraid of. Maintenance is cheaper, aftermarket parts are cheaper. A 2 stroke carburetor has an air screw instead of a fuel screw, works exact opposite of a 4 stroke carb. Main difference is you add 2 stroke oil to the gas. Of course they sound different, lil' smoke from the exhaust, and have more top end than bottom end. My plan is to keep my 88 LT250R and get a LTZ400 later and keep both.
