I just bought an 05 se 350 for $750 from a guy that thought he blew the motor. He said it made a bunch of noise and stopped running. Had a mechanic look at it and it started and he said it could be the timing chain tensioner, the compression release, or the starter. I got it home, adjusted the valves, cleaned and rebuilt the carb with a moose carb kit and changed the oil, checked the timing chain, checked the starter and then tried starting it and it fired right up. But it does make a lot of noise while it's running. Anyone have any ideas of what to check next? Haven't checked the compression release yet but really don't know where it is. Had Rear wheels raised and went through the gears and got a lot of noise from that. In the process of pulling side cover off to check clutch area but one bolt is stuck. Letting penetrating oil soak over night. Any ideas?

Ride it instead - freewheeling with rear wheels in the air causes the chain to make tons of noise - it's never really loaded so it rattles around.
