if a clunk sound is heard when shutting off the quad does that mean the one way is going out? dont have any issues that i know of when starting it and i make sure it is in neutral before cranking it. can anyone chime in with experience on this matter?

@QuadManiac one of my quads does what their describing too. Almost like a loud clack when starting, sometimes when it shuts off. And I just put new one way, 52t. Just find it weird to be normal.

@daprotege5 Yeah that's normal. Not sure exactly what it is, but seems pretty universal on 660s.

Scares the shit out of me every time since my other 02 raptor isn’t as close to as loud as the 01.
Did some looking, and a lot of guys are saying the noise occurs when the engine shuts off during a compression stroke. The compression pushes the piston back down, causing the one way to engage and turn the starter gears backwards. It's primarily cosmetic in nature--the damage is minimal to nonexistent.
