I'm going to be putting a clutch in the 03 this weekend. Is this possible to do without a service manual, and will I need any special tools. I've done this a couple of other times, mostly on 2 strokes and 3 wheelers (ATC 200x), so I think I can handle it if its fairly straight forward. Thanks

Fairly straightforward, but you'll need the service manual for the torque specs.

I could't get the service manual to download for some reason, I'll try again at work tomorrow. I don't have to pull the engine to do this, or do I?

Right click on it, save as.


You don't need to pull the engine, although the manual might say you do. You can get to all necessary bolts without removing it.

Isn't there some thing about having to put the bottom rear bolt in the cover before sliding the cover down past the frame?

Got the clutch put in tonight, and yes you do have to put the bolt in the clutch cover first, found that out the hard way. Its also alot easier to remove the clutch release shaft prior to installing the cover.
