do you think it a good idea to powdercoat the rear axle? But i would cover the splines and all snap ring locationsso everything fits back on.

Sure ya could.. a good coater knows what to expose for the coating and what not, still good to go over everthing in detail so your not getting any surprises (such as where the carrier covers the axle, you don't want to coat that part)...

Thats true!

BUT, it still makes the axle look better,..even if it gets chipped or dinged up.
Ultimately if your looking at a wider axle in the future, save the money you want to spend on the p.coat and put towards a better axle,..most are chrome or silver. my $.02

well me and my friends have a powder coating gun and an oven and we just buy the powder and do it ourselves. so in reality it only cost me like 15 bucks for a pound or so :thumbsup:
