Hey guys I just traded wat was left of the raptor for a yz125 with a bad rod bearing....gonna do a complete tear down and replace everything but I was looking for some advice as far as parts and wat to do and wat are known problems....the dirt bike forums seem like they dnt wanna help a new guy out so I figured someone here had to ride a bike.....its a 1998 YZ125

I just picked up a '98 YZ125 for myself. It was sitting for so many years and water somehow made itself into the engine and rusted the crank and the bearings. Just did a full teardown of the engine and got a Wiseco crank/rod kit. It came with all the bearings, seals, gaskets, and everything you will need to rebuild the bottom end. I also picked up a wiseco top end kit as well. Got about 2 hours riding on the engine now (beating the balls off it) and it's holding up very well. I would definitely recommend it!

Just make sure when you tear it down to spin all the bearings to make sure they all feel alright.. I had to replace the bearing that the main shaft of the transmission goes into because it felt a little rough. Also, there are some parts of the shifting mechanisms on the right side of the case (behind the clutch) that you do not want to come apart because it will ruin your day. Be very careful with them.
