This is still tough to see what happened. It's just too far away.

You can see the bike go over, and you can see a kick of sand from the throttle being stuck open as part of the crash. I think the Tire is was spun the bike to the opposite direction. It looks to me like bike and rider tumble a couple of times, and that the bike lands on Dez on the first roll. I watched it slow mo, and frame by frame.

Slow Mo at the end.

Thanks Adam. What I remember, I knew exactly where I was, but was very close to the closed boundary. So I went west torwards the tree line (from the Red Buggy Area) and wet sand. Just before the wet sand I turned right, North. After the turn is where and when it happened. From the video it looks like I was going straight and that's the last I remember. Then it rolls at least twice, and the bike and I come to a stop. The right front tire is flat now and may have been a cause, because of a tree stump or wet sand that may have flipped me.

I found tracks in the area coming over a roller. with tracks turning right and straight ahead was the first landing spot of the crash.

I'm still going with a right turn, didn't see the whoop, and that whoop tipped it over.

I think the tire went flat in the crash, as it was rolling over.

The GoPro always looks like crap when you zoom it in really at all. It was too blurry for me to really be able to tell even frame by frame and watching it.

Yeah, a right turn and all hell broke loose. A wheel apparently sliced off the quick mount and goggles from my helmet. Brand new helmet from my last wreck. That allowed sand in my face. Tire tracks all over my body, right, front wheel has a good size dent and tire is flat. Proteper bars were rotated in the clamps, but appear straight. ODI and ASV are good. Thumb throttle shaft is bent and sticks, holding open unless manually released. The plastic was in the process of being sand cut but shows some repairable damage. It will be a while before I get some air in the tire, and check the frame and alignment.

I would say that the quad took the accident better then my body did. And another helmet will be on the way.

Sounds a little like my crash... got to love helmets! I think we need to slow down dez.

I hit a 6x6 at 60mph... never seen it coming. it was a few feet to the side of the path, i had to really look for it... i just knew it wont a "ditch" there.

Anyway, im glad you seem to be doing good dez... hope you heal quickly.

The right rear tire had a piece of Velcro in it that my buddy Daniel saw. We thought it was weird but didn't put it together till Sunday and Johnny grabbed the helmet and sure as shit a piece for the goggles was missing.

Good example of a helmet saving a life. With the throttle stuck and the tire going that would not have felt good on the side of the head for sure.

The Raptor was ready for a lunch break or something, and was like, GET THE F OFF ME. is that thing union or something... lol

Just going over some old posts and had to watch the video again. I'm really lucky to have had a good trauma surgeon that not only kept me alive, but now, 22 pins and 5 plates in my shoulder to hold it together. Full range of motion back but not full strength since I haven't been to the gym in a while. Watch the video to the end for the slow motion. I have the cage now, The Can-Am X3 RS is almost a year old now and I love it!!

Just realised that this happened over a month ago. I wasn't keeping track of things over here. You probably recovered by now. Wish you all the best dez. You are a good man and if you look at it from other perspective your old bones just got some terminator upgrades.

Damn!! Glad you are okay now Dez. That is a gnarly crash! We have all been there at some point. The fact we even get back on them is what makes us crazier than the rest of society.

Yep, 22 pins and 5 plates. I was black, blue, purple, yellow and other colors all over for a long time. Lucky I was knocked out when the rear tire/wheel flipped up and hit my helmet, and don't remember anything. I thought my arm was out of the socket and tried to get one of the other 7 guys to knock it back in. Lucky nobody tried. And I don't think my recovery could have been any better.
