Anybody know if it's okay to run heavy duty diesel oil 10w 40 synthetic

You mean like t6? I, and many others here run t4. I imagine the synthetic version is probably fine for it. @t web2007 will sort us out for sure

It's high in zinc and works great.

Works good, even carries the jaso ma/ma2 ratings for wet clutches. I don’t personally use it anymore, but there’s no real reason why not to.

Why did I think the rotella t4 and t6 were expensive? I didn't realize it was diesel oil you could buy by the gallon.

I've been running nothing but Rotella T6, since about a year now, seems to do the job just fine.
