I have a stock 2005 660. I have to let the clutch lever all the way out before it moves. Is this a free play issue or do I need a clutch?

Try adjusting it, if you can adjust the free play out then you should be ok. If you find the clutch slipping in 5th or on a holeshot then it may be time to put in a new clutch.

As long as the clutch grabs well when released, and doesn't slip, adjust the free play in the lever to be as much as you want - to make the clutch grab where ever you want in the lever's travel.

You must have at least a small amount (1/8 -1/4") of free travel in the lever to guarantee that the clutch is fully released. If you can't get the clutch to grab, regardless of how much play you have in the handle, then you have clutch issues.
